The Most ____________ Time of the Year

You fill in the blank. It all depends on the day around here. It's been a CRAZY month and all I can say is thank goodness it's November. Truly one of my most favorite months of the year.
Because of where we used to live we never really got to experience the Trick or Treat thing. We had one neighbor on our street that ever participated and they weren't ever home when we went to their door. Last year I had class and so I couldn't go with Braxton when we took him to dad's neighborhood. This year we were really looking forward to celebrating our first Halloween in our new house and experiencing the thrill of Trick or Treating.
Mckinley went as a lion just like her big brother did his first Halloween and Braxton graciously agreed to go as a dragon again this year since I didn't get to see him dressed up last year.
We had so much fun.

What a Difference!

Hardly can believe it's the same baby! Look at her.....

She's Walking Away

We have a little walker in the house. She started taking a few steps almost immediately after her birthday. She would take a few steps and fall and just crawl to get to where she was going. Now she'll actually walk and if she falls she gets back up and finishes walking.

Silly Girl!

I can honestly say our baby girl did not have a good weekend. If you'd look in her mouth you'd see why. 2 molars are coming in, one on each side. I did catch a glimpse of our happy girl this morning. She loved sitting in a big chair. I did think about the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving where Snoopy has it out with the chair because the one she was sitting in kept trying to fold up.
Anyways hope you had a great weekend. On to another work week!

"ONE"derful

Can not believe it's been a year since we met this little girl!
                            Enjoying some watermelon
                            Cupcakes for our cupcake
"So you want me to do what?"

Yesterday we celebrated our baby girl turning one. Mckinley didn't get a nap yesterday and she was still quite the hostess. She would let anybody hold her and was up after everyone was gone until about 10pm. I was able to get some great pictures. I know she'll love hearing all about her first birthday some day.
Thanks to everyone who came, helped out, or sent birthday wishes her way.

Rogus?

A couple of years ago "Rogus" appeared......well not physically but he started to become  well known around our house. He was Braxton's imaginary friend. I had read, and heard, that they are very normal for children and is actually a sign of intellect. We didn't worry about "him" and enjoyed hearing about what he was up to and doing at the moment.
One time Braxton was going out back to play and he wanted to take his wooden toolbox out. He went out the back door carrying 2 wooden toolboxes. I asked what he needed 2 for and as serious as he could be Braxton told me that "one was for Rogus".
Yesterday we were reflecting on all the funny things Braxton had done and I asked if he remembered Rogus. Again with a straight face he said, '"Yes. Mama he died."
Pretty interesting. I didn't ask any questions and nothing else was said.

Yep.....I was one of "them"

"Why aren't you up yet? It's your first day of school!"
                                           The shirt says it all!
Well today was actually the second day of school but his first for actually knowing whose class he's in. I'm not going to beat around the bush at all when I say last Tuesday was tough. I took him in, gave him a kiss (cause I could feel it coming on) and turned around and walked out quickly. I didnt make eye contact with a single person in the hall, Brandon and I walked out in complete silence, and as soon as we were outside I started. Crying. I'm not sure why but just the thought of what I had done tore me up.
Today was his first day back. And it was his turn to cry. He has the best teacher. She's everything you could ever imagine when you hear the word "kindergarten teacher" and I feel so lucky that Braxton has her. I'm not exactly sure why he started but he did. She came over and rubbed his back and Brandon and I walked out.
We walked out. It was so hard to do but I felt like he needed to know she's the one to go to when he's upset while he's at school. This school stuff is killing me.
Tomorrow is another huge hurdle. School bus. He went to bed very apprehensive tonight. I'm sure he'll be scared and unlike me who had my big brother on the bus he has no one. He'll be all by himself. Brandon is doubting whether we should start this week and I think we need to get all these things over with. Am I doing the right thing?
Pray for my little man tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes!
